NBA PLAYER-ON-FAN BRAWLS

The most salary a player lost for fighting with a fan is $4,995,000 and his name is Ron Artest. This was in 2004, when he was with the Indiana Pacers. ("ESPN.com"). He had got into a fight with a fan who threw beer on him and he was then"suspended for 73 games (and playoffs), the longest non-drug suspension in NBA history." ("Ron Artest").

But the first man to get in a fight with a fan is Vernon Maxwell of the Houston Rockets during a game with the Portland Trailblazers on Feb 6, 1995. He punched a fan because he says the fan heckled him about his wife's miscarriage. He later got suspended for 10 games and fined $20,000. ("Hoopedia")
